In NabNab Imposter, players control a crewmate armed with a huge hammer. They move around a 3D arena by holding and dragging, seeking out other crewmates to smash. Each successful smash absorbs the target's power, making the player larger and stronger. The arena is populated by other players, each also trying to survive. Running into a larger opponent results in being smashed and eliminated. The goal is to be the last crewmate remaining. Before entering the fray, players can pick from several roles—such as Hunter, Assassin, or Captain—each offering distinct skills and items. This variety encourages different play styles. The game is a straightforward .io brawler where size and strategy matter.
